There is something special about being different. Think about some of the most successful people that you know or admire and I am sure that you will think of something that is special about them. There is usually something different about the way that they think, interact, dress or communicate that you are drawn to. Never underestimate the power of authenticity. It is never underrated. You will find that your interactions will come naturally when you are being yourself.
Your may not fit in a lot of places but you are not supposed to. If you fit in everywhere, you are not being yourself . You are just going along to get along. There’s nothing wrong with that mindset in certain environments but even then you can still interact in a manner to displays your authenticity while interacting with others. If you are communicating in a manner that does not portray your true self in relationships, business or interactions you are sabotaging your own success.
Authenticity is a big part of success. If you really want to be successful you have to identify what you are good at, your niche and perfect your craft.. As you focus on what you are good at and perfect your skills through trial and error, you will find that you begin to flow in your strength. Also pay attention to what you are not good at and areas that you need to improve. Why? Because the goal is not to be good at everything. The goal is to perfect your craft, what you are good at. 🙂
Everyone has flaws. Some people just camouflage theirs better than others. The sad part about this is once their flaws are exposed they have a hard time dealing with it because they’ve hidden behind a mask for so long that reality throws them off balance. Frequent self evaluation is essential for your growth and development.
When all is said and done, you will find that you are usually drawn to people who are authentic. I’m not extremely active on social media, however, when I do engage I am always drawn to a postings, pages or a profiles that are different. Engaging with someone who’s personality or creativity comes across in what they are writing or communicating is refreshing. I’ve always wondered why people create fake profiles on social media. I’m sure that there probably is a reason for it but what is missed is a chance for a genuine interaction.
I am sure that I am not the only one who appreciates an authentic interaction whether it be in public or online. What are your thoughts on this?
